Very wet Saturday
Very difficult conditions this Saturday at Bastogne for Belgian GP, with home riders at the top of their game…

Forecasts were right, we had a very rainy day at Bastogne. Race direction decided very early in the day to cancel the qualifying race in order to keep the track in good shape for tomorrow’s races. The track proved to bring some luck for the Belgian riders, as Desalle made the best lap time in front of De Dycker while Van Horebeek led the MX2 timed practice.

The track remained OK today but we can’t say the same about the paddock, which was in some places very tricky to walk on. You had to choose the best line! The places of the paddock with some gravels on it remained in very good shape. Some riders had the good idea to park their camper on it, while some others have to live in pretty poor conditions this week-end. The organizers told us the soil is actually very hard usually here.

Dylan Ferrandis ended his timed practice off the track but he actually was the only non Benelux-resident rider to score a top 3 position today, not so bad for a guy coming from South of France…
In the end the riders only had a small hour to get used to the track but the weather might be much nicer tomorrow with no rain, so Sunday might be a different story.
